Charges
and cost will vary from development to development and region-to-region,
this may also be affected by the availability and the qualification
levels for that care.

A
nurse/manager would be responsible for the overall care facility
and for the day to day running of the organisation and would
do this in conjunction with each residents own GP. As a rough
guide about 5 hours care per day together with the cost of
meals plus the cost of the service charge would be about equal
to the cost of a residential nursing home. A care level above
that is still available if that is what the resident requires.
In a few cases where it is necessary to provide 24 hour care
up to NVQ4 level then this could be made available by agreement
with the manager.

Ascertain
from the outset what the tariff will be for the anticipated
care levels required and also make sure you check benefit
entitlements that will offset the cost of this care.
